I made a collage and a maquette to describe my learning. The collage is images of my three big ideas that are treatment of cows in different countries, effects of hormones on cows and humans and beef and dairy alternatives. My maquette is showing a farm factory that keeps and treats cows differently. The cows are fed with hormones so they got heavy and they can’t stand on their feet anymore. I chose this form of expression because I think images with a little explanation can be really useful and understandable, I also think that maquettes are very realistic so you can almost feel like you are there. My artistic artifact is showing my learning by showing all the three big ideas I learned.

My form of expression is a ‘book’ of some sort that contains short poems in the perspective of seven different eyes, four animals and three humans. I spent a lot of time thinking about the words for these and what would be the most powerful sentences. I have also linked the websites of the pictures in the book so you can check out where they’re from. I chose to show my learning in this way because I enjoy writing poems and coming up with meaningful words. Writing is relaxing to me, but it's harder to be relaxed when you're working on such a horrible truth. This shows my work in the pictures and in the words. What I have learned is described in the short poems, such as the tiger getting its claws ripped out or the elephant with the chair on his back. Humanity disappoints me. We act as though the world is a marble ball. We play with it and find it beautiful at first, but then we are tossing it out in the trash. We act like we are entitled to own the animals that live here as well. Parading dead corpses of lions and tigers around on our shoulders, trophies of elephant tusks handed out to the rich, forcing animals into small cages and clothes just so we can see them dance. They came before us. If anything, THEY are the rulers of the Earth. THEY are entitled to the forest’s we’ve ripped up, the oceans we’ve poisoned, the land we’ve stolen to build unnecessary casinos and hotels. There will be animals' blood on our hands forever. Some humans try to stop this, to preserve what has been. Most don’t care though. They would happily watch the world waste away if they’re getting money out of it. Humanity might never change its ways. But there is some hope. Not a lot but some. Open your eyes. See the world differently. Save it, don’t kill it. Be the saviour we were meant to be.
